STEM Networking Event
This is a fantastic opportunity for local schools and businesses to hear about the STEM Ambassador Programme. How you or your organisation can get involved.
Arrow Electronics have invited us to their site for this FREE meeting and we will hear about their work in Artificial Intelligence.
STEM Club Activities
David Whale (STEM Ambassador) will show some recent science experiment workshops using the BBC micro:bit that he has been developing in collaboration with the science department at Stewards Academy. The experiments/workshops are applicable for science and computing curriculums and for in-class use and STEM club use.
National Centre for Computing Education
Katie Vanderpere-Brown (West Essex Computing Hub) will talk about their support for primary and secondary computing teachers in schools in the area and links with industry and universities.
The NCCE was set up to increase the number of pupils in schools and colleges who study computer science at GCSE, AS and A level; particularly girls and those in disadvantaged areas. It aims to ensure that there is a strong pipeline of digital skills in England.
Public Health England
There will also be an update from PHE on their move to Harlow.
There will be refreshments available when you arrive including cake. The presentations will start at 4.30pm
