The coronavirus pandemic and resulting social distancing advice has had an unprecedented impact across all sectors and industries.

We have collated a selection of new funds that have arisen to support practitioners, businesses and organisations through this extremely difficult time.

Asda Foundation Covid-19 Grants: Healthy Holiday Grant
This grant (maximum £500) is designed to support groups that typically would be holding summer holiday activities to ensure children are provided with a hot meal.

Asda Foundation Covid-19 Grants: Hygiene Grant
This grant (maximum £500) is open to applications from care homes, hospices, hospitals and homeless shelters to support residents with hygiene dignity.

Youth Futures Foundation
Rolling grants programme designed to find, fund, support and evaluate promising practice. Funding will go to organisations working with young people aged 14-24 to help overcome barriers to finding meaningful work. 

Youth Endowment Fund
New £6.5m COVID-19 grant round to support vulnerable young people at risk of youth violence. Wide eligibility: charities, public sector and for-profit companies. Deadline June 3rd.

Rosa Covid-19 Response Fund
Provides small grants of up to £10,000 for specialist women’s organisations across the UK. Applications considered on a rolling basis (opens June 5th).

Aviva Community Fund
£50,000 grants for small charities. Deadline July 28th.

National Lottery Reaching Communities (COVID-19)
Focusing on funding projects and organisations helping communities through the COVID-19 pandemic and support with running costs for organisations that have been financially impacted.

Essex Community Foundation Emergency Grants
The purpose of the Essex Coronavirus Response and Recovery Programme is to get help quickly to voluntary and community organisations that are in crisis as a result of the pandemic and need emergency funding to keep their vital services running.

Food Charities Grant Fund
Up to £100,000 for charities helping people affected by coronavirus (COVID-19). Deadline July 6th.

Power Partners Funding to Combat Fuel Poverty During Coronavirus
UK Power Networks funding (£2-20,000) for charities or community groups to combat fuel poverty during the coronavirus. 

Childs Charitable Trust
Emergency Funding Application for charities affected by the pandemic.

Resilience and Recovery Loan Fund
A new fund for social enterprises and charities who are experiencing disruption to their normal business model as a result of COVID-19.

BBC Children In Need Emergency Essentials Programme
Programme that supports children and young people who are facing exceptionally difficult circumstances.

COVID-19 Emergency Surplus Food Grant
Grant to assist not-for-profit surplus food redistributors in overcoming challenges that they are currently facing in obtaining surplus food to distribute to people in need or those considered vulnerable.

CAF Coronavirus Emergency Fund
This fund is to help smaller charitable organisations in the UK affected by the impact of Covid-19. Grants of up to £10,000 are available.
*Update 28/04 - Currently paused but expected to re-open*

Tesco Bags of Help COVID-19 Communities Fund
This fund will provide a single payment award of £500 to organisations who are supporting vulnerable groups. The programme is set up to support organisational need in this time of crisis rather than fund specific projects.

Youth Music Emergency Fund
New Emergency Fund to offer additional support to music-making organisations affected by coronavirus. Next deadline July 31st.

Creative Industries

Aim Crisis Fund for Independent Music Contractors
Support fund aimed at the contractors and freelance workers in the independent music industry whose source of income has been severed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Help Musicians Fusion Fund
Offers £2,000–£5,000 for professional musicians to undertake projects that develop and test new work, ideas or potential career directions through inspiring periods of collaborative cross-sector research and development. Deadlines: June 1st, Sept 14th.

Women Make Music
The fund can support projects by women, trans and non binary songwriters, composers, artists, bands and performers who are writing their own music. Deadlines: June 8th, Oct 5th.

Freelands Foundation Emergency Fund
Grants of £1,500-£2,500 for artists and freelance creative practitioners in urgent need of financial support as a result of Covid-19 – weekly decisions until June 16th.

The Royal Variety Charity
Nationwide Grant Scheme. Assistance for those affected by COVID-19.

Actors’ Benevolent Fund
support for actors and stage managers unable to work owing to illness, injury or old age.

Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief
Spotify will match donations to a series of music industry bodies that provide financial support to musicians (such as Help Musicians, above)

Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust Grant
Grants for the families of those working in the fashion or textile industries who have been financially affected by coronavirus

The Authors’ Emergency Fund
Emergency funding for authors affected by the COVID-19 Coronavirus crisis.

MAD Trust Hardship Fund: Coronavirus
Up to £200 to meet unexpected expenses leading to hardship (for theatre practitioners)

Business and Enterprise

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships Scheme
Up to £40 million of funding has been allocated to support businesses in collaborating with an academic or research organisation and a graduate on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). The scheme enables businesses in the UK to innovate and grow by linking them with an academic or research organisation and a graduate. Deadline for current round 16th July 2020.

Coronavirus Future Fund
Large government backed loans for innovative companies (eg life sciences, R&D) that are facing financial difficulties due to coronavirus. Launches in May.

Resilience and Recovery Loan Fund
A new fund for social enterprises and charities who are experiencing disruption to their normal business model as a result of COVID-19.

The Prince’s Trust and Natwest Enterprise Relief Fund
A £5million fund to help young entrepreneurs across the UK to keep their businesses afloat during the coronavirus crisis.

Facebook Small Business Grant Programme
Facebook is offering $100M in cash grants and ad credits to help during this challenging time.

COVID-19: Support for Businesses
Support and guidance from the UK Government for businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS)
A list of accredited lenders from British Business Bank.

Heritage

National Lottery Heritage Emergency Fund
The National Lottery Heritage Fund has put together a £50million fund to support the heritage sector as an immediate response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Deadline June 30th.

Data Analytics Innovation Vouchers
The Business and Local Government Data Research Centre is inviting small business owners, public sector organisations and local government to apply for Data Analytics Innovation Vouchers (DAIV) that can be used to pay for its experts to act as consultants to address specific problems or help organisations collect and use data more effectively.
